Spirit of Deception

I recently completed a study on Revelation and I believe what gripped me the most was the level of deception that will be unleashed and continues to be unleashed in these last days. After pondering a couple of months, this poem birthed.
What is the source of the deepest deception?
When we view through the lens of our own dark reflection.
It started in Genesis “did God really say?”
Where we all decided we want it our way.
This spirit of deception now races through time,
Weakening our souls to lukewarm and resigned.
It’s ever so cunning and offers excuse,
Unless under scrutiny of Biblical truth.
It packages itself in pride and inclusion
As weapons are surrendered in graves of delusion.
It sits at the head of high religious order,
Well outside the limits of Biblical borders.
It promotes cheap redemption as one God for all,
While undermining Jesus, the singular call.
It advances the falsehood that all sects lead to God,
A demonic unification and evil façade.
It kisses the ring of one cloaked in purple and red
With no spiritual pulse because he is dead.
It covers up crimes against young girls and boys
And promotes religious leaders who deem them as toys.
It’s the perfect design to make us feel whole,
Yet a compromised life, its ultimate goal.
It’s comfortable yet dangerous, our soul in a wedge,
As sin grows and flourishes while we dance on the edge.
It claims men can mediate between death and Hell
Yet it’s only through Christ, He must indwell.
It speaks to our flesh “practice sin just a little”
While repentance is eroded, and grace is belittled.
It encourages our Bible to be left on the shelf,
While truth remains masked or twisted in stealth.
It claims from the pulpit that Israel’s been replaced
Yet the word never says that God’s covenant was erased.
It claims Revelation as perplexing or a puzzle,
So that few will probe depths, hold prophecy in a muzzle.
It shouts out “cheer that God wins but ignore here and now”
And continue in oblivion while Satan takes a bow.
It sits unquestioned in the center of some churches
And laughs at the soul who willingly converses.
If we think we can combat through sheer human skill
We have failed to see clearly Satan’s subtle drill.
Instead, we must access the Truth by all means,
As this will shine light on all of his schemes.
We must comb the pages and learn for ourselves
Allow Jesus to kill whatever rebels.
And if sitting in pews where this treachery happens
The Call “Come out from her my people," wake up from your napping!
Much Love,
Cari
